Enter to win a pair of rush passes to Kingston Canadian Film Festival, which runs February 28-March 3.
The event is the "largest all-Canadian film festival" in the world. Perhaps predictably, given its home country, it's also quite diverse. The recently announced line-up includes biopics (with telling titles) Affairs of the Heart: The Life & Music of Marjan Mozetich and The Woman Who Loves Giraffes; coming of ages tales such as Firecrackers and Giant Little Ones; thrillers, both based on true events (Stockholm) and horrifying (the Exclaim!-presented What Keeps You Alive); and much more.
There are even some historically significant moments for the country's film industry, such as Métis actress Tantoo Cardinal's first feature in a leading role (Falls Around Her), the "first feature made entirely in the two dialects of the critically language of the Haida people" (Edge of the Knife [Sgaawaay K'uuna]) and even the winner of last year's Best Canadian Feature at TIFF 2018 (The Fireflies Are Gone or La Disparition des Lucioles in its language of French).
Special events include a screening of underrated 1973 classic U-Turn (The Girl in Blue), appearances from Gerry Dee and Baroness Von Sketch, and an Exclaim!-presented performance from standup comedian K. Trevor Willson of Letterkenny.
