Since July, Grolsch Spaces has been supporting visual and musical artists by combining the two forms of creative expression at some of Toronto's best venues. The shows are all free, with a focus on upcoming talents. On November 28, Grolsch is bringing Charly Bliss to the Horseshoe Tavern (RSVP here!).
The Brooklyn-based quartet deliver sugary-sweet alt-rock/power pop on last year's debut LP Guppy, and they perfectly fit the rising star mantra of the series; we named the album one of our Top 10 Underrated Records of 2017. They also recently wrapped a tour supporting Death Cab for Cutie, so this is probably your last chance to catch them in a venue this size, especially for free!
Previous instalments have included hip-hop and R&B cover band Wing Night and psychedelic rappers Tongue Helmet (July at Rivoli) power poppers Sportsfan and lo-fi pop act Twist (August at the Gladstone Hotel), poppy punks Pkew Pkew Pkew and Single Mothers offshoot the Drew Thomson Foundation (September at Sneaky Dee's) and a couple of DJs (October at the Pacific Junction Hotel).
For your chance to win the VIP experience celebrating this excellent closing chapter to the series this year, check out this article on performer Charly Bliss, then fill out the form below. If you need a bit more enticing, just know the five lucky winners will receive guaranteed admission for them and a guest, a signed poster for the event, a T-shirt, plus Exclaim! and Grolsch swag. Once again, don't forget to RSVP here in case luck doesn't favour you.
