The taping of Fallon's show was cancelled on Friday (November 3), citing a family emergency. In the wake of Fallon's mother's death, NBC has called off Tonight Show tapings for the week of November 6 to 10.
The network also offered a statement, which reads: "On behalf of everyone at NBC, we extend our deepest condolences to Jimmy and all his family at this time of enormous loss. Our hearts go out to Jimmy and everyone else whose lives were so touched by Gloria Fallon's love, kindness and support."
A number of other Fallon's celebrity friends, colleagues and past guests on his show have also reached out with messages of sympathy on social media. See a selection of those below.
