Published Jun 16, 2020Get ready for a 30 Rock reunion because we're getting just that. Yes, Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan, Jane Krakowski, Jack McBrayer and more are all getting back together for a new NBC special.
The remotely produced special will come part of an hour-long, commercial-free event on July 16 via NBC, who describes it as "a first-of-its-kind all-audience upfront event."
The special will be a scripted and feature the return of various 30 Rock stars, who will revise their old roles from the beloved show. Overall, the special aims to "focus on stories and talent featured in NBCUniversal's 2020-21 season."
"We're all happy to have this excuse to (remotely) work together again for NBC," said 30 Rock creators Fey and Robert Carlock in a statement. "To quote Kenneth the Page, there are only two things we love in this world, television and everyone."
The news of the 30 Rock special follows a similar event by NBC's Parks and Recreation, which was produced remotely and raised money for Feeding America's COVID-19 Response Fund.
In addition to the 30 Rock cast, the NBC special will also feature appearances from various other NBCUniversal stars, with the show promoting new and returning shows at NBC, Telemundo, USA Network, Syfy, E!, Bravo and more.
The special will first premiere on NBC and then will be rebroadcast across USA, Bravo, E!, Oxygen, SYFY, and CNBC as well as available to stream on NBCU's new Peacock streaming service on July 17 at 9 p.m. ET. Peacock will launch on July 15 in the U.S.
30 Rock ran for seven season and aired its final episode in 2013 after 138 episodes.
