Published Jun 17, 2020This Saturday (June 20) will mark 20 years since Deftones unleashed their revered third studio album White Pony, and the band have teased plans to celebrate the occasion with a new remix album.
During a virtual global press conference held today, frontman Chino Moreno shared that White Pony will be reissued later this year alongside a remix effort dubbed Black Stallion.
"We're gonna be releasing later in the year a reissue of the record and we're going to do sort of a split side of the record, a remixed version of it titled Black Stallion," Moreno revealed. "So we have a bunch of different people on it, some that actually inspired some of the writing of the record itself, the original album. So it's kind of come full circle."
A release date for Black Stallion and the White Pony reissue has yet to be confirmed. The band were recently forced to cancel a summer tour with Gojira and Poppy due to the coronavirus pandemic.
As previously reported, Deftones are currently mixing their ninth studio album, which will follow 2016's Gore. The band recorded the album with Terry Date, who also helmed White Pony.
