Published Jul 21, 2016Lamb of God have gone through a name change and some band member switches since their 1994 inception as Burn the Priest, but their longevity as a prominent metal band is undeniable. After receiving multiple Grammy nominations, touring with bands like Metallica and Clutch, and having added a new album to their extensive collection just last year, the only remaining question is: What's next? In this episode of Exclaim! TV's Aggressive Tendencies, we sat down with bassist John Campbell to discuss the current state of the band.
"We're starting to get towards the end of a tour cycle," says Campbell, "but I know that Mark and Willie are constantly writing riffs." While Campbell mentions the possibility of taking a break, he also discusses their goals of maintaining a diverse touring lineup, his unique personal relationship with their music and the writing process of 2015's VII: Sturm und Drang. "Our goal with every record has been to do better than the one before."
There's a lot to look forward to in the future from Lamb of God, but for now you can watch our full interview in the player below.
