Published Feb 12, 2017Thirteen people have been injured in a crash after a truck slammed into the bus carrying heavy music titans the Dillinger Escape Plan. The crash happened in Poland, where the band was heading to Krakow today (February 12) to play a concert.
A Polish police spokesperson told the Associated Press that the band members were not seriously injured, but they were taken to a local hospital for tests. There was also a pregnant woman on the bus at the time of the crash, but she was luckily not hurt.
Among the injured, are apparently the truck's driver, whose vehicle hit the band's tour bus as it was parked on the side of the road.
As a result of the crash, the show tonight in Krakow has been cancelled. Venue Kwadrat in Krakow said in a statement, "At the moment, we are not able to inform you whether the show will get rescheduled and how the ticket purchaser should proceed, but we will release this info as soon as only possible."
At this point, it's unclear if more dates on the group's tour will be affected, but the next stop is in Leipzig, Germany, on Tuesday (February 14). You can see the band's upcoming tour dates here.
UPDATE (2/13, 12:15 p.m. EST): The band have now officially cancelled all their reaming European tour dates. Below, you can see a newly released statement from the group's Ben Weinman:
All the gear is destroyed and there are injuries — we are unable to continue this tour right now. The band and crew would like to thank the fans and press around the world for their concern and the Polish police and medical staff for their handling of the situation. We hope to get back to Europe soon.
