Unlocking the Truth Announce Long-awaited Debut Album
After wrestling themselves free from their five-album, $1.8 million contract with Sony in 2014, teenage metal trio Unlocking the Truth are ready to show off their chops on record with the arrival of their long-awaited debut LP.

Titled Chaos, the record is set to arrive on June 17 through independent music distributor Tunecore. Produced by Johnny K (Megadeth, Pop Evil, Disturbed), the record is said to be "a tight, powerfully heavy yet melodic full-length offering."

"We can't wait for everyone to hear our album. We've worked very hard to give the fans something they'll love and never forget," vocalist/guitarist Malcolm Brickhouse said in a statement. "We hope they are able to relate to the songs the way that we do and have the time of their lives listening to them. We know that this album will blow you guys away."

Brickhouse formed Unlocking the Truth in 2010 with drummer Jarad Dawkins and bassist Alec Atkins. By 2013, the group were busking in New York's Times Square, which is how they caught the attention of Sony. The group have also played sets at Coachella and Heavy Montreal, and have made a commercial for Verizon.

The band's difficult major label journey was chronicled in the documentary film Breaking a Monster, directed by Luke Meyer. Watch footage of the group's 2014 appearance at Heavy Montreal below.
