Published May 04, 2020Jason Isbell's new album with the 400 Unit may be called Reunions, but some freshly unearthed footage of gives listeners a better idea of just how long the the singer-songwriter and his instrument have been inseparable.
Ahead of Reunions' arrival later this week, Isbell's Southeastern Records shared a grainy clip today of a seventh grade performance in which the artist covers Allman Brothers Band instrumental "Little Martha."
You can spot Isbell in the video's lower righthand corner, opening first with the Black Crowes' "She Talks to Angels" before getting to the aforementioned instrumental.
"I think this was the first time I ever played in public," Isbell tweeted in sharing the clip. "Hopefully I'll do that again at some point. Threw in a little Black Crowes before getting down to the @allmanbrothers seriousness."
As previously reported, Reunions will arrive on May 15 through Southeastern/Thirty Tigers. It marks the follow-up to 2017's The Nashville Sound.
