Emay Returns with "Republic of New Afrika"
The self-produced "Republic of New Afrika" is a brief critique of white supremacy, capitalism, imperialism and neo-colonialism, with Emay eviscerating each of these ills in an unflinching delivery before he "burn[s] it all to ash to rehash."
The cover art for "Republic of New Afrika," seen above, pictures Mao Zedong shaking hands with Ghanian leader and pan-African revolutionary Kwame Nkrumah. Emay has been at work on a follow-up to his 2017 album Ilah.
Posted a new track of mine entitled "Republic of New Afrika" produced and written by me.— Emay (@emayarchaic) August 7, 2020
I was angry at white supremacy, capitalism, imperialism and neo-colonialism when I wrote it. All of those terrible things.https://t.co/DWVa8pVZ3c pic.twitter.com/ngoGe5JEjq
