The Exploited Working on New Album for Nuclear Blast, Prepping Reissues
Published Jan 17, 2014Veteran Scottish punk/hardcore crew the Exploited have announced a new partnership with European metal imprint Nuclear Blast, who will handle a handful of reissues and, most excitingly, the group's first new album in over a decade.
The signing was announced today (January 17), with founding vocalist Wattie Buchan adding that the group's first set of new material since 2003's Fuck the System should arrive sometime later this year.
"One of the main reasons we signed to [Nuclear Blast] is the fact that [Markus Staiger], the owner, is a big Exploited fan and I know he will give us 100 percent backing to make the next album as great as the last ones," Buchan said in a statement.
No additional info from the album has arrived just yet, whether song details or when the band will it the studio, but European fans may be able to check out some new tunes when the Exploited heads out on tour in February. You can see the show info here.
While fans are waiting for the new LP to arrive, it should be noted that a trio of older albums will be given the deluxe reissue treatment by Nuclear Blast. Represses of 1990's Massacre, 1996's Beat the Bastards and Fuck the System will arrive in digipak CD editions and gatefold vinyl releases on March 18 in North America and March 14 overseas.
Proper tracklistings for the reissues have yet to arrive, but both Beat the Bastards and Fuck the System will include four bonus tracks, while Massacre is being packaged with the Official Live-Bootleg concert DVD. You can pre-order the sets on their own or in a bundle over here.
